Thomas/Boyd Communications Turns 20

The year was 1998. Liz was 39 and her daughter Kristen was 6. Pam was 30 – her sons Alec and Aaron weren’t even on the scene.

Both Liz and Pam vividly remember the day Liz approached Pam and said, “Oh, come on, leave your secure job and start a new business with me.” Pam decided to go for it. Her decision paved the way for the birth of Thomas/Boyd Communications.

We were small, but mighty and determined to make a name for ourselves.

Our first office was in a “historic” (a.k.a. old) building in the center of Moorestown that plagued us with plumbing issues and occasional squirrels in the attic, so we decided to find new space.

We relocated to traditional office space in Mount Laurel before ultimately returning to our roots in Moorestown where we purchased a Victorian building in 2006 and transformed it into office space.

Fast forward to today and the celebration of our 20th anniversary.

Not unlike every other business in the country, we muscled through the economic downturn, working smarter and a little leaner, only to come out stronger when the tide started to turn.

The menu of services offered in our early years has expanded in keeping with the evolution of digital communications. Our highly dedicated and talented staff creates and deploys memorable client campaigns using digital and traditional methods and are still counted on to deliver stellar media relations coverage.

We boast a diverse client base that includes renewable energy and utility giants to health care and nonprofits, economic development and more. New business is almost entirely generated through word-of-mouth and referrals – we can think of no better way for a business to grow and prosper.

When you hear and read about the most important issues and activities taking place around the region that require strategic communications, there is a good chance Thomas/Boyd is behind the scenes.

As we take just a moment to look back on the past 20 years, we are sincerely grateful for the referrals we continue to receive and the on-going reviews and support of our current clients.

We thank our hard-working staff and the continued support of our families.

We look forward to what the future holds.

Sincerely,

Liz & Pam
