LUCY Outreach Will Benefit 1,500 New Jersey Families

Camden based nonprofit recently opened its 10,000 square foot LUCY Youth Center

LUCY, Lifting Up Camden’s Youth, a local nonprofit, recently opened a state-of-the-art facility in East Camden that will triple the number of Camden City youth and families it serves from 500 to 1,500 within the first two years.

The LUCY Youth Center features an open floor plan with spacious program rooms, expanded office space for additional staff, a commercial kitchen open to community members, Comcast LIFT Zone for use by the community and an ADA compliant center with roof deck, two computer labs and flex rooms for continued center growth.

At-risk and low-income Camden City youth, young adults aged 7-28 and their families can receive multicultural, culturally responsive services including nine programs: daily after-school, college & career academy, LUCY littles, youth night, youth leadership advisory board, Haven (LGBTQ+ support group), alumni support services, summer programming, including two service immersion trips to the U.S./Mexico Border and Camp Bright Feathers, and LUCY bikeshare program.
