USS New Jersey Ready to Make Its Debut

The newest USS New Jersey (SSN 796), a Virginia-class submarine, is set to make its debut just as the 1943 model, a World War II-era battleship, is set to return home to the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard dry dock.
The third naval vessel named after the Garden State, the USS New Jersey was named in 2015, christened in 2021 and set to be commissioned at an April 6 ceremony at Naval Weapons Station Earle in Monmouth County.
